South Atlantic Medical Group, IPA shall enforce a policy of nondiscrimination against any members of health care service plans (aka HMOs or Plans). The decision making process will not be based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, age, mental or physical disability or medical condition, such as ESRD, sexual orientation, claims experience, medical history, evidence of insurability (including conditions arising out of acts of domestic violence), genetic information or source of payment, or on any basis that is prohibited under state and/or federal laws or regulations, in the delivery of nor access to covered health care services for such members.
In addition, South Atlantic Medical Group, IPA will not discriminate in terms of participation, reimbursement, or indemnification against any healthcare professional who is acting within the scope of licensure and certification under state or federal law.
